Solution against antibiotic resistance
Professor Sébastien Rodrigue's team from the Université de Sherbrooke won Québec Science magazine's 2022 Discovery of the Year award for an innovative technology that combines probiotic bacteria with a CRISPR module to counter antibiotic resistance. This targeted approach destroys the genetic material of pathogenic bacteria in the microbiota while paving the way for future clinical applications against chronic inflammation.
